Posted by admin on July 11th, 2010 and filed under american politics | 8 Comments »

Do you feel that Christianity is playing too big of a role in American politics and influencing too many things? Would it be better if religion and politics were just separated?

YES, Religion is suppose to be separated from the State It’s in the CONSTITUTION that is the way the Founders wanted it. Republicans trying to satisfy the Christian Right try to push this even the Abortion Rights, We have the Right to chose.

The Bankruptcy of American Politics [Lew Rockwell]

Posted by admin on June 28th, 2010 and filed under american politics | 1 Comment »

Lecture by Lew Rockwell presented at the Ludwig von Mises Institute’s “The Bankruptcy of American Politics” summit held in Newport Beach, California; January 24-25, 1997. http://mises.org

Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr., widely known as Lew Rockwell, is an American libertarian political commentator, activist, proponent of the Austrian School of economics, and chairman of the Ludwig von Mises Institute. Rockwell founded the Mises Institute in Auburn, Alabama in 1985 and was its president until the summer of 2009, when he transitioned to the position of Chairman of the Board. He also is Vice President of the Center for Libertarian Studies in Burlingame, California and publisher of the political weblog LewRockwell.com.

He is the author of Speaking of Liberty, an anthology of editorials which were originally published on his web site along with transcripts from some of his speaking engagements. Rockwell and the Ludwig von Mises Institute together publish the Journal of Libertarian Studies.

He was closely associated with his teacher and colleague Murray Rothbard until Rothbard’s death in 1995. Rockwell’s political ideology, like Rothbard’s in his later years, combines a form of anarcho-capitalism with cultural conservatism and the Austrian School of economics. He also advocates federalist concepts as a means of promoting freedom from central government, and also advocates secession for the same political decentralist reasons. (Source: Wikipedia)

How did the Native Americans influence American politics?

Posted by admin on June 28th, 2010 and filed under american politics | 3 Comments »

I am doing a project of how the Natives influenced American politics. I know that they have been taken advantage of the Americans a lot, but I need to figure out some other ways they have changed the laws and such over the course of the developing America.

In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries – they made the white may into a savage in the name of religion also the white man went on committing excesses that in modern times would be acts punishable by the most stringent punishments.
A culture, a way of life that was alien to Christian thinking was destroyed and the people killed to extinction. Look at what happened to civilisations in S America, the Red Indians as the white men called them. Also, the white man’s greed for land, for gold, for material benefits completely finished off a way of life-be it the native American of the Afro who for more than 2 centuries was mere possession to be exchanged or killed or raped or whatever the white ‘massa’ wanted. This thinking has continued even now among some of the die hard racists. I think the Ku-Klux Klan still exists in some parts of the US.

Incidentally I am from India, and boy, were whites racists and bigots then. Thank God we had a Mahatma Gandhi, who contributed a lot who to change human thinking about other humans.

Fortunately now, at least in theory we are all equal.
